Child Safeguarding

Role Purpose

  • The Food security and Livelihood Assistant will work with the FSL team and directly with the FSL Officers to ensure timely delivery of project activities.

Key Areas of Accountability
Programme Support (typically will be at field level):

  • Support field level technical assessments in coordination with the FSL response lead and other SC thematic areas and/or other external sector agencies, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of children's needs.
  • With support from the FSL Officer and Coordinator or other senior programme staff, develop project plans and budgets, contributing towards an overall project implementation.
  • Help in the identification and recruitment of community mobilisers and/or project volunteers
  • With support from the FSL Coordinator/officer and/or other senior programme staff, identify programme supplies needs and coordinate with the logistics team to put in place a sensible phased procurement plan.
  • With support from the Monitoring & Evaluation team support the M & E plan implementation within the FSL projects.
  • With support from the Accountability Lead ensure accountability is enforced in all project activities as well as ensuring that feedback from children and their families is considered in project design/implementation
  • Work closely with partners and their staff to ensure project activities are implemented on time and within the stipulated quality.
  • To ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Sphere Charter and Red Cross Code of Conduct.
  • Working closely with supervisees (Partner Field Assistants/enumerators) to ensure project/sector objectives are met per time across projects being supported.
  • With the support of FSL Officer, support project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities (for example, monitoring against log frames, individual performance management work plans).
  • Coordinate field level implementation of projects activities alongside staff of partner organizations.
  • Work closely with the Sector Lead, Program Manager and other senior programme staff, support timely programme and donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal SC requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.

Capacity Building:

  • Identify learning and training opportunities for partner staff and communicate this to the FSL manager.

Representation & Advocacy & Organisational Learning:

  • Ensure that Save the Children's work is coordinated with efforts of other agencies and Government, and support Interagency Coordination forums, advocating for the specific needs of children. This may involve supporting coordination working groups within the IDP camps and host communities or target project sites.

The Role

  • As part of the Finance team, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for supporting effective Financial management and administration processes for the Nigeria CO programme.
  • He/she will support Nigeria Finance team in areas of; electronic archiving of financial documents, Accounts reconciliations, and other Finance Administrative duties as per SCI guidelines. He/she will effectively interact with a diverse group of stakeholders, manage expectations and duties according to the agreed timelines. Key Areas of Accountability
Financial Support Roles:

  • Raise cheques approved by relevant budget holders/finance and taking them to approved signatories for signing.
  • Perform bank related activities; picking up monthly bank statements
  • Requesting and Collection of Finance unit office stationery and consumables from the Admin office for day to day business activities.
  • Support in the verification of all assets
  • Reconciling and matching of transactions on the system on a weekly basis
  • Support in the payments of participants and other beneficiaries.
  • Maintain update of GLACOS on daily basis
  • Assist in the remittance of statutory payments (Pension, NHF, NSITF, WHT, PAYE) on/before the due date

Archiving of Document Role:

  • Ensure all payment and journal vouchers are electronically archived on a monthly basis
  • Review monthly TL to ensure all vouchers for transaction posted to the system are completely filed
  • Produce soft/scanned copies of documents for retention purposes.
  • Keep a standard record of document retrieval and return log
  • Verify all transactions and ensure that the relevant supporting documents have been filed
  • Maintain a filing system for all transactions
  • Support in maintaining soft copy archiving system
  • Properly label all files and arrange vouchers in their appropriate folders on the shelf for easy retrieval.

  • Run U&R campaigns for data services targeted at carefully profiled customers
  • This role requires deep understanding of consumer behavior, social trends, technology changes, OTT services and trends, revenue generation, project management, solution design and integration and market / consumer requirements, team management. It incorporates a combination of these perspectives to generate business opportunities.

Requirement of the role include:

  • 5+ years in a similar position + managerial experience
  • Experience of Telecommunications Industry or FMCG marketing environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Use deep understanding of the market trends and consumer insights to formulate a cohesive strategy
  • Affinity with and technical knowledge of the latest technologies and services used within the industry and affiliated industries
  • Excellent Data analytics skills
  • Good English
  • University degree in related field
  • MBA or Master's Degree – a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to operate in a performance driven organization
  • Integrity and maturity of thinking
