Need to know | President Biden and Donald Trump have agreed to two debates ahead of the 2024 election. Both hope to make their case for president before early voting begins. |
| | The debates: They’ll take place on Jun. 27 and Sept. 10 and will be hosted by CNN and ABC, respectively. No third-party candidates were invited to participate. [New York Times] |
| | What’s different: The debates break from the schedule of the Commission on Presidential Debates, which announced theirs would begin in September. Both campaigns expressed frustration with that timing. [CNN] |
| | Risks ahead: Both candidates may be rusty when they take the stage. Biden has done fewer interviews than his predecessors, while Trump skipped all five GOP primary debates. [Yahoo News] |

3 Questions... | about the Young Sheldon series finale | Young Sheldon, the popular Big Bang Theory prequel, ends tonight after seven seasons. I asked entertainment reporter David Artavia to break down what we know ahead of the finale. |
| | Young Sheldon is one of the most popular shows on TV. Why end it now? |
| Without spoiling it: We’ve known since The Big Bang Theory that something major affects Sheldon at 14. Now that it’s happened and he’s at that age in Young Sheldon, the showrunner wanted to “end it strong.” |
| |
| | What has the cast said about the end of the series? |
| From what I’ve seen, most have said they’re ready for what’s next. Iain Armitage, who plays Sheldon, recently mentioned that he’d love to do something indie, action or sci-fi. |
| |
| | It’s coming to CBS this fall and will focus on Sheldon’s brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) and his new bride Mandy (Emily Osment) as they navigate family life in Texas after Young Sheldon takes place. |
