Swiss mining company Glencore has launched the ProAc project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), aiming to promote economic diversification, financial inclusion and food security in the region. The initiative, part of Glencore's environmental, social and governance (ESG) portfolio, will provide financing and skills training to local communities in the agri-food sector. Vedanta Regains Control of Konkola Copper Mines in Zambia

Vedanta Resources Holdings Limited ("VRHL" or "Vedanta Holdings" or "Vedanta"), the diversified global mining, metals, natural resources, energy, and technology conglomerate today confirmed that it has paid USD 245.75 million in line with its commitment under the KCM scheme of arrangement. This paves the way for imminent reinstatement of the Board of Directors of KCM and the return of full management control to Vedanta, which is necessary before Vedanta ramps up production and unlocks KCM's full potential.

Cape Town Mining Summit to Highlight the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)'s Critical Mineral Investment Prospects
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)'s state-owned mining firm, Gecamines, and Canadian company Ivanhoe Mines have resumed operations at the high-grade Kipushi zinc-copper mine . The mine is expected to produce up to 140,000 tons of zinc concentrate this year and up to 278,000 tons annually over the next five years, with upgrades to the mine's new concentrator currently underway.
