The Lagos State Government has secured the hosting rights for the 2025 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, a move expected to boost opportunities for small businesses in the creative sector.
Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, alongside Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, received the BON Awards team led by Founder and Chairman Advisory Board, Mr. Seun Oloketuyi, at Marina, Lagos, on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Announcing the development on its official X handle, the Lagos State Government said hosting the BON Awards reflects its commitment to positioning Lagos as the hub of Nigeria's creative economy.

Now in its 17th year, the BON Awards is Nigeria's longest-running film industry awards ceremony. Its Lagos edition is projected to create jobs, open up markets for SMEs in fashion, catering, media, event services, and entertainment, while reinforcing Lagos as the epicenter of Nollywood.
Officials say the hosting will not only celebrate creativity but also expand business opportunities for entrepreneurs across the value chain of the creative economy.
