Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, announced the initiative following a National Economic Council (NEC) meeting chaired by President Tinubu. Describing it as "a historic step," Bagudu said the programme supports ongoing macroeconomic reforms and grassroots development. In Yobe State's Yusufari LGA, the rollout has begun with distribution-ready items including 2,500 bags of fertiliser, 50 power tillers, 500 bundles of cassava stems, and other agricultural inputs. These assets are currently under the LGA's custody pending final distribution guidelines.
