The Enugu State Government has signed a Subsidiary Loan Agreement for the Nigeria for Women Project, marking a major step toward boosting career opportunities, business growth, and economic inclusion for women across the state.
Spearheaded by the Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development under Governor Peter Mbah's administration, the initiative is designed to provide women with financial support, capacity-building training, and entrepreneurship tools to improve livelihoods and scale women-led enterprises.
Commissioner Ngozi Enih affirmed that the state's timely commitment, including prompt payment of the Counterpart Fund, reflects a deep investment in women's potential. "We are empowering women to become job creators, not just job seekers," she said.
