The Ekiti State Government has unveiled new development projects aimed at boosting the state's economy through strategic investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and aviation.
At a press briefing held in Ado Ekiti to mark the third anniversary of the present administration, the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Dele Adebayo, highlighted the state's achievements across key sectors. He said the government's initiatives are positioning Ekiti as a competitive destination for investment and tourism.
Adebayo noted that the government has made remarkable progress in road construction, youth employment, rural development, and agriculture. Several road projects, including the Ikere–Igbara-Odo Road, Ogotun–Ikogosi Road, Isinbode–Ara–Ikole Road, and the Ado Ekiti Ring Road Phase 1, are set for commissioning as part of the anniversary activities.
In the health sector, five general hospitals recently rehabilitated and equipped with modern facilities will also be inaugurated to enhance access to quality healthcare across the state.

Speaking on agriculture, Adebayo revealed that over 5,000 youths have been empowered to participate in cluster farming, leveraging Ekiti's strong agricultural potential. He added that the initiative has contributed to food security and a significant reduction in food inflation, as recently reported by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
"Knowing our strength in agriculture, we are providing free land clearing and dormitory-style farm settlements to encourage youth participation and boost productivity," he said.
He also confirmed that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has approved full commercial operations for the Ekiti State International Cargo Airport, a development expected to further stimulate the state's economy by enhancing trade and investment opportunities.
According to Adebayo, the government remains committed to its vision of shared prosperity and economic inclusion through the continuous delivery of impactful projects that improve livelihoods and strengthen the state's economic base.
Other members of the anniversary planning committee present at the briefing included the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro; Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi; APC State Chairman, Barr. Sola Elesin; Special Adviser on Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun; Special Adviser, Office of OTSD, Dr. John Ekundayo; ALGON Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Ojo; and Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode.
