In a move to strengthen youth entrepreneurship and drive the green economy, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has sponsored 100 young people from Sokoto Central Zone for an intensive renewable energy training focused on solar photovoltaic systems.
The 21-day hands-on programme equips participants with skills in solar installation, maintenance, and repairs, preparing them to establish and manage their own renewable energy MSMEs. Each trainee will receive a complete solar toolkit and start-up allowance to kickstart their business journey.
Speaking at the launch, Almustafa Abubakar Alkali, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, noted that the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to create green jobs, expand MSME opportunities, and promote clean energy adoption across Sokoto State.
