The Ondo State Government is teaming up with telecommunications giant, Globacom, to roll out advanced digital solutions that will strengthen governance, education, security, revenue collection, and boost opportunities for small businesses.
During a meeting in Akure with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Globacom's Group Lead, Enterprise Business, Adeniyi Odejobi, said the partnership would drive efficiency and productivity across multiple sectors, including support for entrepreneurs and SMEs who rely on digital tools to grow.
Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that his administration has been prioritizing technology-driven governance, citing the recent launch of iOndo, an electronic tax collection platform that simplifies online payments for residents and business operators. He stressed that adopting Globacom's solutions would cut red tape, enhance transparency, and reduce human interference in government processes, which also benefits SMEs seeking a more business-friendly environment.

Odejobi explained that Globacom would also deploy a Learning Management System (LMS) for secondary and tertiary institutions, alongside Glo Share—a sponsored data service that provides students with free online access to educational platforms. These initiatives, he added, will not only strengthen digital literacy but also expand opportunities for youth-led enterprises and innovation.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence that the partnership would accelerate digital adoption, support SMEs, and foster socio-economic growth across Ondo State.
