The Bauchi State Government, in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has launched the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) Bauchi Initiative to boost skills for youth, civil servants, and entrepreneurs.
Governor Bala Mohammed described digital literacy as a "fundamental right," stressing that the program aims to equip citizens with the tools to create jobs, fight poverty, and compete globally. "Technology is now the fastest-growing industry in the world. With the right skills, people can create value from anywhere, even their homes," he said.
The initiative, which aligns with NITDA's Strategic Roadmap and the National Digital Literacy Framework, is anchored on three pillars:

Informal Sector Program, equipping artisans, traders, and informal workers with digital tools. Already, 7,101 Digital Literacy Champions have reached over 267,000 Nigerians.
Workforce Readiness Program – providing graduates, job seekers, and public servants with employability and productivity skills.
Educational Sector Program – integrating digital literacy into schools, with a new Basic Education Digital Skills Curriculum set for rollout in September 2025.
NITDA commended Bauchi's "bold step" in positioning itself as a northern hub for innovation. With a young population and strategic location, officials say the state is poised to drive digital transformation and economic diversification.
