The second phase of the Innovatech programme will expand digital services to support agroecological transitions, aiming for more sustainable food systems through natural resource conservation and reduced chemical use.
Boosting Climate Resilience in Vulnerable Regions
Rossana Polastri, IFAD's Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, highlighted the programme's role in strengthening small farmers against climate change. "With Innovatech 2.0, we are creating innovative solutions to help farmers adapt," she stated.
Empowering Rural Communities Through Tech Training
Beyond technology, Innovatech 2.0 focuses on people. It will provide digital training and mentorship to 8,500 women, 8,500 youth, and 1,700 Indigenous people, fostering employment in agritech start-ups.
