The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has announced that the upcoming 2025 Nigeria Manufacturing and Equipment (NME) and Nigerian Raw Materials (NIRAM) Expo will serve as a major catalyst for promoting technology-driven, sustainable industrial development in the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, MAN President, Mr. Francis Meshioye, said the joint expo—scheduled for August 5 to 7—will showcase cutting-edge innovations across Nigeria's manufacturing value chain, promoting the government's "Nigeria First" industrialisation policy.
"This expo offers a key platform to adopt home-grown technologies that will boost local production, reduce dependence on foreign goods, and help us transition to a more resilient, innovative industrial base," Meshioye stated.
Co-organised with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), the event will focus on the theme: "Accelerating Sustainable Manufacturing through Cutting-edge Technology Solutions." It will feature energy-efficient production systems, smart factory automation, and the application of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Meshioye emphasised that the expo will not only promote resource optimisation and advanced recycling but also foster partnerships with green technology innovators to co-create scalable, eco-friendly industrial solutions.
According to him, over the three-day event, equipment manufacturers, processors, local fabricators, and technology stakeholders will exhibit innovations developed specifically for Nigeria's manufacturing environment.
"Using locally sourced raw materials and domestic support services like funding and logistics will be key to building a prosperous and sustainable industrial future," he added.
Also speaking, Prof. Martin Muonso, Director General of RMRDC—represented by Dr. Edith Obi—called for more strategic use of Nigeria's abundant raw materials.
"We are building a future where Nigerian-made products are celebrated globally," Muonso said, highlighting the importance of collaboration across sectors to drive national self-sufficiency and innovation.
CEO of Secure ID, Mrs. Kofo Akinkugbe, also stressed the critical role of research and development in achieving full value chain industrialisation.
"With stronger investment in R&D, we can develop essential raw materials locally, increase exports, and reduce our reliance on imports," she noted.
The NME/NIRAM 2025 Expo is expected to be a landmark event in Nigeria's journey toward industrial sustainability and technological self-reliance.
