The figure is unchanged from the March–May period. The underemployment rate also remained steady at 1.4 percent. Without seasonal adjustment, the unemployment rate stood at 3.6 percent, with the number of unemployed persons reaching 136,200 — a slight increase from 135,800 previously. "Looking ahead, the trend of unemployment rate will hinge on the overall economic performance," said Chris Sun, Secretary for Labour and Welfare. He noted that while the summer influx of fresh graduates and school leavers may affect employment dynamics, the ongoing recovery of the Hong Kong economy is expected to provide continued support to the job market. | | | |
