The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, has reaffirmed the apex bank's commitment to financial inclusion, entrepreneurship support, and capacity-building for Nigerian youth in emerging sectors.
Speaking at the Youth Action event in Abuja, themed The Youths are Here, Cardoso—represented by CBN Deputy Governor Muhammad Sani Abdullahi—outlined the Bank's strategy to empower young entrepreneurs through youth-friendly credit policies and training initiatives.
He highlighted the CBN's focus on bridging financial access gaps, fostering innovation, and strengthening partnerships with civil society, international organizations, and the private sector.

According to him, these collaborations will amplify the impact of youth-led initiatives, create jobs, and drive innovation.
"We are committed to forging strategic partnerships that will empower young people and underserved communities. Our economic policies will harness opportunities for youth to thrive as entrepreneurs and innovators," Cardoso stated.
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and Vice President of the Joint Consultative Council of the CBN, Jamilu Ado, also underscored the importance of sustained policy efforts in positioning Nigerian youth as key drivers of economic growth.
