Africa Energy Indaba Unveils Essential Energy Solutions Amidst SA's 31% Electricity Hike

Pravin Gordhan, the Minister of Public Enterprises, approved a further ten-percent increase in electricity prices for 2024. Gordhan has requested in a letter to the Speaker of Parliament that a total average upward adjustment of 12.74% be applied to the retail electricity rate for the 2024–2025 financial year. This is an increase over the 18.65% consumers paid for the fiscal year 2023–2024.
