Speaking at the EQ and Career Conference in Lagos, themed "From Campus to Corporate: Building Emotional Intelligence for Career and Business Success", experts highlighted how these skills help SMEs and young professionals access opportunities, build resilience, and navigate challenges such as office politics.

Convener of the event, Ogechi Eleojo, explained that the conference was designed to prepare fresh graduates and small business owners for real-world success, noting that emotional intelligence drives better decision-making. She also unveiled her book, Portrait of a Purpose-Driven Professional, aimed at inspiring professionals and entrepreneurs to build capacity and confidence.
Other speakers, including HR leaders from Flour Mills, Wema Bank, and business consultants, advised SMEs and graduates to be intentional about networking, resilience, and strategic relationship building, stressing that "skills alone are not enough; connections and emotional awareness are equally key for growth."
