Governor Uba Sani's administration has intensified infrastructure delivery in Kaduna State, commissioning and initiating road projects that are opening fresh opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across urban and rural areas.
In just two years, more than 82 road projects covering 780 kilometres have been flagged off, with a strong focus on rural communities that had been long neglected.
Recently completed roads in Kaduna metropolis include Rafin Guza–Hayin Naiya, Sultan Bello Road, FRCN–Unguwan Dosa Road, Unguwan Muazu Township Roads, Yakubu Gowon Layout Roads, and Kawo Layout Roads, among others. These new links are improving access to markets, schools, and healthcare services, creating ripple effects for local businesses.\

In Chikun LGA, construction has begun on the Karatudu–Romi Road, abandoned for 13 years. The project, scheduled for completion in eight months, includes adjoining township roads such as Cemetery Road, Lusawa Road, and School Road.
Zaria, Sabon Gari, Kafanchan, Kajuru, and Kagarko are also seeing major upgrades, with bridges and township roads completed to reconnect communities and strengthen trade routes.
Analysts say improved road access will lower logistics costs for SMEs, expand market reach, and boost rural-urban trade, making Kaduna a competitive hub for small businesses.
"Every kilometre of road is a new opportunity for SMEs to grow," a development observer noted, highlighting the potential for job creation and commerce expansion.
