Kaduna State Government has launched the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development (KIVTSD) to empower youths, women, and small business owners with globally competitive skills to drive entrepreneurship and job creation.
Commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in June, the institute operates campuses in Rigachikun, Soba, and Samaru Kataf, all equipped with modern facilities for hands-on training.
The centre offers 14 NBTE-accredited trades, including solar installation, mechatronics, catering, fashion design, and computer hardware maintenance, with 80% of training devoted to practical workshops.
Courses range from short three-month certifications to one-year NSQ qualifications, designed to produce graduates who can start businesses or meet workforce demands.
