Life Reimagined: Should Billionaires Exist? | SEO | Pricing | Happiness
Hey uguba ndubuisi, I hope you're having a relaxing weekend.
Should Billionaires Exist?
With more conversations happening about UBI, "the rich", wealth taxes, and increasing economic inequality, Steph Smith and I decided to spend our Saturday discussing billionaires on the latest episode of the Sh*t You Don't Learn in School Podcast.
In the episode, we debate whether or not billionaires should exist and discuss some ideas about how we can start creating a world with better economic opportunities for more people.
I think we both had a lot of fun with this episode, which skewed more political than we usually allow ourselves to go.
Whether you think are billionaires are evil people at the root of all of our problems, that people who produce outsized value deserve what they earn, or that you don't care about billionaires and simply want a world in which everyone has the ability to improve their circumstances, you might find the discussion interesting. You can check it out here:
P.S. In case you missed them, our recent episodes about pricing and traditions have received a lot of interest and good feedback.

Happiness Challenge
I first listened to Shawn Achor's Ted Talk, The Happy Secret to Better Work, in 2017. It quickly became one of the most impactful pieces of content that I've ever consumed.
Near the end, Shawn shows a simple, 21-day happiness challenge that helps you rewire your brain to start seeing the good in the world. The first time I did the challenge in full, I was stunned by how much of a difference your outlook on the world can change for the better in a short period of time.
Since then, I've returned to the challenge a few times, particularly when I'm falling into less productive modes of thinking and want to get back to an attitude of gratitude. I began the challenge again yesterday.
If you want to join, for 21 days, you do the following every day:
- Write down three new things for which you are grateful.
- Write down one positive experience you've had in the last 24 hours.
- Meditate.
- Exercise.
- Do one act of kindness for someone else.
What I like about this challenge is the ROI on your time and life satisfaction. It does not take that much time every day, and the impact on your mind can be profound if you stick with it.
So if you're down in the dumps or generally want to elevate your mood, I encourage you to take the next 21 days to give this challenge a try.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Learning how to rank content on Google is one of the most useful skills to understand in 2021. The problem is that despite it being a relatively straightforward set of skills, there is endless noise on the internet that distracts you from the first principles of SEO.
Thankfully, Steph, my partner for the podcast and a creator who's successfully leveraged SEO to grow large-scale publications and her personal projects, created Doing SEO Right, which is one of the sections of her wildly successful e-book, Doing Content Right.
This 80-page intro to SEO is probably the quickly way that you can learn what actually matters if you want to use SEO to grow your business, build a blog, or improve the way you look to employers.
Thanks for tuning in, and see you in two weeks.
Cheers,
Cal
