Need to know Hurricane Debby, a Category 1 storm, made landfall this morning near the coastal town of Steinhatchee in Florida's Big Bend region, about 75 miles south of Tallahassee. What to know: The National Hurricane Center warned of a "major flood threat" in the Southeast. More than 200,000 Florida homes and businesses were without power this morning, and thousands of flights have been canceled. [USA Today] The storm path: It's expected to move slowly across northern Florida and then stall over the coastal regions of Georgia and South Carolina, with potential record-setting rains totaling up to 30 inches starting on Tuesday. In case you missed it 🥇 Lyles's photo finish American runner Noah Lyles won the 100-meter sprint, beating Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by five thousandths of a second. Lyles's coach called it "the closest final in the history of the Olympic Games." Watch the race. [Yahoo Sports] 🗳️ Harris secures nomination Vice President Kamala Harris secured enough delegates for the Democratic presidential nomination during the DNC roll call, which ends today. She's expected to name her VP pick this week. [CNN] 🌍 Middle East conflicts The U.S. and other countries urged citizens to leave Lebanon as the risk of a wider Middle East war grows after the deaths of a Hezbollah commander and Hamas's political chief, which Iran blamed on Israel. [BBC News] ⚖️ Trump's election case A district judge denied Donald Trump's motion to dismiss his federal election interference case, saying there was no evidence of his claim that prosecutors abused their authority. [ABC News] 📺 HBO's sizzle reel HBO released teasers for the upcoming seasons of several highly anticipated series, including The Last of Us, …And Just Like That and The White Lotus, all of which will premiere in 2025. 3 Questions... about Olympics track and field The first few days of track and field at the Olympics are off to an exciting start. I talked to seven-time Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix about the U.S. team and a new initiative she started at the Games. Sha'Carri Richardson is in Paris for her first Olympics. What does she bring that's special to these Games? She brings her personality, and it's very entertaining. I think she's also brought in a lot of new fans, and many have followed her debut here in Paris [after she couldn't make it to Tokyo in 2021]. Look out for her in the 4x100m relay later this week. What do you think makes this particular class of U.S. Olympic track and field athletes so special? Obviously, their talent makes them so special. But I think everyone is also truly themselves, which can be fun to watch. Some are outgoing and enjoy playing up to the crowd, and others are quieter — they just let their legs do the talking. You've also spearheaded the first-ever nursery at the Games. How are the Olympics different for parents who are competing? Parents have a lot more going on than just their competitions. So, to have the nursery right there in the village, it's convenient and it relieves some of the pressure. Get to know Team USA: Here's who's vying for gold in track and field.

Corporate governance means following the rules and embracing the right practices to ensure your organization runs well. It means making sure the business is managed in a way that's fair, transparent, and accountable. This includes having clear roles for decision-making, ensuring everyone acts in the best interest of the business, and following laws and ethical standards. And in case you don’t know, no business is too small to embrace corporate governance. Do you make business decisions without proper planning and analysis, which can lead to confusion and poor business outcomes? Do you sometimes evade taxes, ignore labour laws, or engage in unethical practices like bribery for business favours? Do you make decisions that benefit you as the business owner personally but harm the business; for instance, hiring a family member who isn't qualified for a job? Do you encourage weak internal control such as  allowing one person to handle all aspects of finance without oversight, which can lead to fraud or misuse of funds?
