Nigeria is accelerating its digital transformation, and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is leading the charge.
On February 25, 2025, NITDA's Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa, appeared on NTA's Good Morning Nigeria to outline the Federal Government's strategic vision for a digitally inclusive economy.
A key highlight was Nigeria's partnership with Google to enhance digital infrastructure, advance AI innovation, and equip citizens with essential digital skills. This collaboration aims to position Nigeria as a global tech hub while fostering business-friendly digital solutions.
NITDA is also driving financial inclusion through the Aso Accord, an initiative designed to provide accessible financial services to women and small businesses. By eliminating financial barriers, the government is strengthening economic participation across all sectors.

Additionally, the agency is pushing for 75% digitization of government services by 2027, streamlining processes like business registration, tax payments, and passport applications.
With a target of 95% digital literacy by 2030, programs like DL4All and partnerships with the NYSC are equipping young entrepreneurs and SMEs with the skills needed to thrive.
NITDA's collaborations with fintech leaders like Flutterwave and Alami are further revolutionizing Nigeria's digital payment landscape, ensuring seamless transactions for businesses of all sizes.
Events like Digital Nigeria Week 2025 will continue to drive dialogue on fintech growth and SME empowerment.
With a strong focus on infrastructure, partnerships, and cybersecurity, NITDA is bridging the digital divide and positioning Nigeria for sustainable economic growth in the digital age.
