Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended Starium Holdings, the makers of Rafa Detergents, for establishing a detergent production facility in Lagos, emphasizing its impact on job creation and economic growth.
During a visit to the Starium Detergents facility in Alaro City, Epe, Sanwo-Olu praised local manufacturers for filling the gaps left by exiting multinational companies. He noted that BUA Group's investment in the detergent industry reinforces its commitment to deepening the consumer market and meeting local demand.
"The decision by BUA Group to establish this facility in Lagos underscores their dedication to growing Nigeria's manufacturing sector. This expansion will significantly boost production capacity and create numerous employment opportunities," Sanwo-Olu stated.
The Governor was accompanied by key state officials, including Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, and Investment, Folashade Ambrose-Medebe; Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab; and Chairman of Alaro City, Ayodeji Gbeleyi.

Rabiu revealed that Starium commenced production in 2024 and has plans to build a second production line to meet growing demand. Expressing gratitude, Rabiu acknowledged the Lagos State Government for fostering an enabling business environment and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his foresight in developing the Lekki Economic City.
