The Lagos State government is deepening its commitment to climate action and circular economy innovation through strategic partnerships with the private sector. The initiative aims to drive entrepreneurship, create jobs, and position Lagos as a leader in sustainability.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Mrs. Titi Oshodi, highlighted this during the online launch of Kike Ai, an AI-powered cooking app developed by SMEFUNDS to improve gas supply efficiency and boost job creation.
According to Oshodi, the government is fostering an ecosystem that supports green economy innovators. "Lagos recognizes the vast potential of the circular economy. We are implementing policies that drive job creation and encourage entrepreneurship in climate action," she said.
The plan includes innovation hubs, support for small enterprises, and specialized training programs in collaboration with academic institutions, private sector players, and international organizations.

Oshodi commended SMEFUNDS for developing Kike Ai, describing it as a transformative technology that enhances convenience for small businesses and households while creating economic opportunities in gas supply, logistics, and the food industry.
SMEFUNDS Chief Executive, Femi Oye, said the app is expected to generate over one million jobs nationwide by streamlining gas supply and integrating predictive management. "Kike Ai eliminates sudden gas shortages by using AI to forecast usage patterns, ensuring timely refills," Oye explained.
Beyond gas supply, the platform serves as a digital marketplace connecting users with gas stations, offering price comparisons, and optimizing inventory for retailers. Additionally, it provides access to recipes, supporting culinary innovation.
"With rising gas prices, efficiency is essential. Our platform helps businesses and households manage consumption, reduce waste, and enhance safety," Oye added.
As Kike Ai prepares for nationwide rollout, stakeholders in the food and gas sectors are urged to leverage the technology for growth, efficiency, and employment expansion.
