The Nigerian Federal Government is throwing its weight behind regional industrial growth and increased economic cooperation across West Africa, officially endorsing the upcoming West Africa Industrialisation, Manufacturing and Trade (IMT) Summit and Exhibition. This key event is set to take place in Lagos from October 21 to 23, 2025.
The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment confirmed its full support for the summit. Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Enoh, highlighted that this endorsement perfectly aligns with President Bola Tinubu's "Nigeria First" policy, which prioritizes locally manufactured goods in government procurement.
"This commitment aligns with the mandate of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, highlighting the nation's dedication to enhancing its manufacturing capabilities and expanding trade opportunities across the continent," Senator Enoh stated.

Nigeria isn't alone in this drive; other West African nations are also fostering similar industrial growth. Ghana recently mandated the use of locally manufactured products in public procurement, while Senegal is boosting industries like textiles and food processing with production-focused strategies, subsidies, and reliable power.
Organized by dmg Nigeria events, the West Africa IMT Summit will gather regional policymakers, industrial leaders, investors, development institutions, and trade facilitators under the theme: "Accelerating West Africa's Sustainable Industrial Revolution for Economic Prosperity."
