The initiative, which spans six years, focuses on enhancing productivity in key livestock value chains piggery, poultry, sheep, and goat farming. It also targets processors and marketers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to strengthening the livestock sector. Speaking during a media briefing, Mr. Olufemi Adeogun, the State Programme Coordinator for Ondo L-PRES, revealed that the project is one of several being implemented across 20 states in Nigeria. H e noted that the aim is to equip farmers with modern tools and techniques to scale commercial livestock production and make the sector more resilient to shocks. > "The overall purpose is to ensure smooth implementation of the project in the state, in accordance with the Project Development Objective (PDO) and operational guidelines as contained in the Project Appraisal Document (PAD) and Project Implementation Manual (PIM)," Adeogun stated. The L-PRES initiative is expected to strengthen Nigeria's capacity to respond to agricultural crises, improve food security, and promote sustainable livelihoods through strategic investments in the livestock sector.

This was disclosed during the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) Technical Session and a statewide town hall meeting held at Combo Hall, Agidingbi, Ikeja, on Tuesday. The session, organised by PEBEC in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Debt Management Office, and the World Bank, focused on driving subnational reforms that enhance the ease of doing business. Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folashade Bada-Ambrose, said the state understands that prosperity requires not just potential but concrete reforms built on policy clarity, infrastructure readiness, regulatory transparency, and strong public-private cooperation.
