The Poshclick Foundation has emphasized the role of vocational skills and financial literacy in preparing young Nigerians for entrepreneurship and reducing youth unemployment.
At the close of a week-long programme tagged "Skill Up, Stand Out" in Lagos, the foundation trained over 120 senior secondary school students of Babs Fafunwa Millennium Senior Grammar School in creative and vocational skills, including photography, videography, makeup, fashion styling, and content creation. The initiative was part of its Youth Empowerment Through Life & Vocational Skills project.
Founder Jokotade Shonowo said the project was designed to create alternative SME pathways for young people, especially those who may not have immediate access to higher education. "For those that don't have the means to go to university, they can transition into apprenticeship or small-scale entrepreneurship, so they're not left idle. It's nation-building because we're catching them young," she noted.

The programme also integrated financial literacy, leadership, self-responsibility, and etiquette into the curriculum. According to Shonowo, equipping students with financial knowledge early provides them with a solid foundation to thrive as future entrepreneurs.
Facilitators drawn from the creative industry, including Chris Omoijiade (The Chris Omoijiade Company), Uche Agu (Ouch Films Multimedia), Demilade Osanyintolu (Sisi Hannah), and Omontese Ita (BeautyCook Studio), exposed students to industry-standard training.
Teachers and participants described the programme as "life-changing," with many students expressing optimism about transitioning into SME opportunities and building sustainable livelihoods.
