In his remarks, Inuwa described digital literacy as the "new currency of opportunity," stressing that inclusive digital infrastructure is key to national development and resilience. He noted that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, NITDA plans to establish 445 innovation and digital learning spaces by 2027 to expand access, nurture local talent, and drive innovation. The group said the Nigerian Navy's arrest of 333 vessels in six years shows enforcement efforts but stressed that lack of detailed data — vessel type, cargo, and case outcomes — makes it hard to measure real economic losses. SEREC warned that maritime insecurity drives up costs for businesses, raises consumer prices, discourages exports, and limits foreign investment in logistics, ports, and shipping — challenges that directly affect SMEs that rely on trade. Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, gave the assurance in Abuja while receiving the management of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), led by its MD/CEO, Mr. Bonaventure Okhaimo. She noted that NCGC was set up in line with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda to strengthen Nigeria's industrial capacity. The Company will share up to 60% of credit risk with financial institutions, making it easier for SMEs and manufacturers to access loans.
