The Kano–Jigawa branch of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has praised the recent interventions in the energy sector, noting that lower diesel prices and improved fuel availability are breathing life back into struggling businesses.
Speaking at the association's Annual Products Exhibition in Kano, branch chairman Muhammad Bello Isyaku Umar said many small and medium-scale industries, long weighed down by high energy costs and unstable electricity supply, are now finding relief.
"These measures are already helping dying companies come back to life by cutting production costs, stabilising operations, and sustaining jobs," Umar said.
He explained that affordable diesel is vital for SMEs, especially those outside the national grid or operating in regions with unreliable power. According to him, access to steady and cost-effective energy will not only keep businesses afloat but also strengthen competitiveness and stimulate industrial growth.
Themed "Made in Nigeria: Revitalising Local Industries for Economic Growth", this year's exhibition attracted manufacturers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and consumers, with strong participation from the private sector.
