The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing infrastructure development as a key driver of industrialization, business expansion, and inclusive growth across the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun stated this during a town hall meeting and participatory forum for the preparation of the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2026 Budget, held at the Bisi Rodipe Event Centre, Ijebu-Ode.
Represented by the Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Dapo Okubadejo, the Governor emphasized that infrastructure remains the foundation for economic transformation and private sector competitiveness.
Abiodun noted that under his administration's ISEYA Development Agenda, over 1,000 kilometres of roads have been constructed or rehabilitated since 2019 — a development that has improved business connectivity, logistics flow, and access to key markets across Ogun's three senatorial districts.
He listed several completed projects, including the Ikofa–Abapawa Road in Odogbolu, Igbeba Road/Talbort Yidi Lane and Awokoya Road in Ijebu-Ode, and Odolewu–Lasesi–Isiwo Road in Odogbolu. Others include the construction of parapet walls for Erinwa Bridge, dredging of Erinwa River, and renovation of the Ijebu-Ode–Epe Toll Gate.

According to the Governor, ongoing projects such as Imoru Road, Stadium Junction–Luba Road, Tam Balogun Road, and Obalende–Abeokuta Road are part of a deliberate effort to strengthen infrastructure that supports industrial clusters and investment corridors.
He also announced plans to establish the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port to enhance transport efficiency and support trade within the state's growing logistics network. The recently completed Gateway International Airport, he added, would further open up Ogun for industrial and investment opportunities.
"Infrastructure development is not just about roads and bridges," Abiodun said. "It is about creating access, enabling businesses to thrive, and improving the quality of life for our people."
The Governor also highlighted achievements in healthcare, digital education, youth empowerment, and agriculture — including the introduction of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), renovation of technical colleges, and the Women Development Centre in Ijebu-Ode for skills and entrepreneurship training.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Olaolu Olabimtan, described the forum as a demonstration of participatory governance, urging residents to share ideas that would shape inclusive budget planning.
Traditional rulers, including the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, and the Daburewe of Idowa, Oba Adefuwape Okuribido, commended the Governor for his infrastructural drive and empowerment initiatives that continue to create jobs and promote economic growth across Ogun State.
