The initiative seeks to brid… | By Abimbola Akomolafe on November 13, 2025 | The WAAW Foundation has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 Scholarship Programme, offering financial and leadership support to young African women studying in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. The initiative seeks to bridge the gender gap in STEM while building a network of female innovators across Africa. Each recipient will receive a one-time grant of $500, alongside mentorship and leadership training through WAAW's empowerment network. Scholars will also join a STEM Outreach Chapter focused on promoting science and technology education within their local communities. Read also, Eligible applicants must be female students of African descent enrolled in accredited undergraduate STEM programmes at recognised African universities. They must be in their first or second year, or third year in a five-year course, aged 31 or younger, and demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and leadership potential. Applications are open until December 19, 2025. Interested candidates can apply through the WAAW Foundation website by submitting required documents, including transcripts, recommendation letters, and valid student identification.
