UNICEF has launched the StartUp Lab Education Challenge 2025, calling on innovators, social entrepreneurs, and early-stage startups especially MSMEs in Ghana's EdTech ecosystem—to submit affordable, tech-driven solutions that support out-of-school children.
The challenge targets small businesses and grassroots innovators building low-cost, inclusive tools that identify, monitor, and reintegrate out-of-school children, particularly girls, children with disabilities, and those in remote communities. UNICEF aims to scale community-led solutions that are both sustainable and aligned with national education systems.

Selected MSME founders will receive US$5,000 prototype grants, structured mentorship from UNICEF and the Ghana Education Service, and opportunities to co-create and pilot their ideas with national partners—offering early-stage innovators a pathway to secure funding, validate their models, and influence policy-level systems.
Applications close 21 November 2025, with applicants encouraged to design scalable models, use local data, propose cost-effective tools, and demonstrate partnerships with schools, communities, and local authorities.
