The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has held a one-day stakeholders' town hall meeting aimed at strengthening ties with potential investors and creating a more conducive business climate in Zamfara State.
The meeting took place at the conference hall of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in Gusau, the state capital.
Representing Governor Dauda Lawal, Deputy Governor Malam Mani Malan Mummuni said the state government has prioritized economic reforms to support entrepreneurship and business growth. He noted that several business-related laws had been amended, while five small claims courts were established to speed up the resolution of commercial disputes.
He added that both legislative and executive actions had addressed challenges in land administration, taxation, incentives, and business regulations.

State PEBEC Focal Person and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Sani Bukkuyum, explained that PEBEC was created to drive business environment reforms nationwide. He said the collaboration with Zamfara State is aimed at fostering economic development and building a thriving business ecosystem, urging stakeholders to actively contribute to the process.
Established in 2016, PEBEC works with federal and state governments as well as the private sector to remove bureaucratic bottlenecks, improve Nigeria's ease of doing business ranking, and attract both local and foreign investments.
The meeting featured technical sessions where experts and stakeholders discussed strategies to promote business development and enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs in the state.
