The philanthropic arm of Airtel Africa Plc, Airtel Africa Foundation, has unveiled an ambitious plan to transform the lives of 10 million people across Africa by 2030 through a series of empowerment initiatives.
The Foundation's strategy, built on four pillars—Financial Empowerment, Education, Environmental Protection, and Digital Inclusion (FEED)—will focus on building talent, fostering innovation, and ensuring that no African is left behind in the global digital revolution.

Chairman of Airtel Africa Foundation, Dr. Segun Ogunsanya, said the mission goes beyond donations.
"Our 2030 vision is a transformed Africa where over 10 million lives are directly improved through our interventions. We are building a pipeline of talent and innovation to unlock Africa's demographic dividend," he noted.
Key programmes include:
- Connecting Schools, which provides free internet connectivity and digital devices to learning institutions.
- Airtel Africa Fellowship, offering full scholarships in technology and STEM fields, paired with mentorship and internships.
- An Employee Volunteer Programme, where Airtel staff contribute their skills and expertise directly to community projects.
Already, through a partnership with UNICEF, the Foundation has connected more than 1,800 schools, impacted over one million students, and trained 17,000 teachers in digital education across 14 African countries, including Nigeria, Zambia, Rwanda, and Malawi.
Supporting the initiative, Airtel Africa CEO, Sunil Taldar, said the Foundation is a vehicle for transformation:

The Foundation's new commitment positions Airtel Africa as a leading driver of inclusive growth, with programmes designed to uplift communities, strengthen SMEs, and prepare young Africans for opportunities in the digital economy.
