The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has reaffirmed its commitment to the development and revitalisation of the downstream sector across the country to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and sustainability.
Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Engr. Bayo Ojulari, gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of the 2025 OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week held in Lagos on Monday.
A statement by the company's Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Andy Odeh, noted that the conference, themed "Energy Sustainability: Beyond Boundaries and Competition," emphasised the need for cooperation among industry players to drive sustainable growth.
Ojulari stated that while competition remains vital, collaboration, sustainability, and resilience have become the new benchmarks for success in the evolving energy landscape.

He explained that recent developments in the industry—spurred by strategic policies, fiscal incentives, and the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA)—had opened new opportunities for expansion and investment in emerging areas such as Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and mini-LNG projects.
Ojulari urged participants at the conference to leverage the platform to address sectoral challenges and explore innovative approaches to redefining energy systems.
The OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week is recognised as Africa's leading platform for stakeholders in the downstream and midstream energy value chain, bringing together policymakers, regulators, operators, service providers, and consumers to foster dialogue, innovation, and investment across the continent's energy industry.
