Could this be a government of old errors in a new label? The present government in Ebonyi must purge itself of those that built walls of disunity, hatred and visionless leadership that drenched government of Elechi, the immediate past administration in Ebonyi state. Elechi was not alone in the dirty deals that shut the state off in the committee of state. The professional appointment seekers in the present govt were the same people that took the undue advantage of the old age of the governor who was already on the other side of 80s when he became the governor of Ebonyi state. The nick name Agburu Nkashi, ochudo etc were all formulated by the same people besieging the present government yet they are the same people that abandoned him when the kitchen was heated up. That is not to say that Elechi was not aware that he was heading to his political abyss which culminated into his failure to install his preferred successor and his becoming a guest at the EFCC where politicians hate to visit. The professional commissioners in the govt of Elechi were the people that misled and misadvised him. Elechi's statement at the EFCC implies that he was not alone in the business of bulling the people of Ebonyi, squandering of the meager resources of the state and the unprecedented executive dictatorship that made Ebonyians perceive him as a despot. The new govt of Umahi promised paradise on earth during his electioneering campaign. It is too early to assess the performance. However, the presence of these shills who connived with Elechi to ruin the state for 8 years makes one to have a strong feeling that the government may be of old errors in a new label. For the new government (Choose able men from all the people, such as fear God, men who are trustworthy and who hate bribe: and place such men over the people as rulers of thousand, of hundreds of fifties and of tens. And let them judge the people at all times; Every great matter they shall bring to you, but any small matter they shall decide themselves: so it will be easier for you, and they will bear the burden with you Ex-18:21-22)
