Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OCP Africa to enhance agricultural productivity in the state.
The agreement follows his visit to OCP's fertiliser production complex in Jorf, Morocco.
Governor Radda emphasized the state's commitment to improving farming practices, investing in mechanization, and leveraging Katsina's lime deposits for fertiliser production.
He noted that the partnership will equip farmers with better seeds, fertilizers, and modern techniques to boost yield and minimize wastage.

OCP Africa's Acting CEO, Mr. Mohamed Hettiti, represented by Mr. Kessab Abdeljalil, reaffirmed the company's dedication to supporting food security in Nigeria and Africa.
The collaboration will focus on soil-specific fertilizer blends, OCP Farm and Fortune Hubs, soil mapping through the OCP School Lab Initiative, and training for agricultural extension officers.
Engr. Oluwatoba Asana, OCP Africa Fertilisers Nigeria's Managing Director, assured continued support, highlighting the long-standing relationship with Katsina since 2018. OCP Africa also expressed interest in participating in the state's 2025 fertiliser programs.
