The Kogi State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has reinforced its implementation strategies to enhance livestock productivity and resilience in the state.
A two-day strategic meeting in Lokoja brought together the State Technical Committee (STC) and State Steering Committee (SSC) to review project implementation, tackle key challenges, and refine intervention strategies.
Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Timothy Ojomah, who also chairs the STC, commended the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) for its dedication. He stressed the need to scale up livestock production, enhance commercialization, and build resilience across the sector.

State Project Coordinator Otaru Abdulkabir Onoruoyiza highlighted the committees' role in aligning interventions with the Project Development Objective (PDO) and the Kogi State Development Plan. A key highlight was the review and clearance of the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) to ensure alignment with project goals.
The event saw participation from top government officials, including permanent secretaries, directors, civil society organizations, and security agencies.
To reinforce oversight, the committees will conduct a project site tour from March 15 to 17, 2025, to assess progress, identify gaps, and strengthen accountability in delivering tangible results for Kogi's livestock sector.
