In a commentary, Williams drew strong parallels between Nigeria's mobile money strides and AI's transformative potential, noting that Sub-Saharan Africa could gain $136 billion from AI-driven productivity with Nigeria capturing 43% of that value. She credited Nigeria's leadership in mobile money adoption, highlighting that over a third of new mobile money accounts in 2023 came from West Africa, with Nigeria as a major driver.
