The Federal Government and Kano State have reaffirmed their partnership to boost industrial growth, following a strategic meeting between Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, and Kano Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam, in Abuja on Wednesday.
The meeting signals a renewed commitment to harness Kano's industrial potential through federal support and state-level implementation.
Meanwhile, in Oyo State, the government has announced over $170 million in agribusiness investments, driven by its flagship project at the Fashola Agribusiness Hub. The update was given during an inter-ministerial press briefing held at the Governor's Office in Ibadan.
Oyo's Commissioner for Agriculture, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, revealed that the hub now houses major cassava, cashew, and dairy processors, integrating over 8,000 smallholder farmers into high-value supply chains.
In two years, the ministry has:
Supported 10,210 farmers with inputs.
Distributed improved seedlings, tools, and feed.
Provided microloans to 3,501 farmers.
Built 87.53 km of rural roads to aid access.
The briefing was declared open by SSG Prof. Olanike Adeyemo and coordinated by Governor Makinde's media team, led by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
These moves signal a broader national push to strengthen local economies through agriculture and industry.
