Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to curriculum reforms that will directly boost entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), as the country participated in the 5th African Curriculum Association (ACA) Conference in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, said the reforms under the Education Sector Renewal Initiative will focus on skills development, digital learning, and entrepreneurship training to prepare young people to create and manage businesses.

He emphasised that empowering Africa's next generation with practical, market-ready skills is critical for SME growth, job creation, and continental competitiveness. "No nation can achieve this transformation alone. Nigeria is committed to working with other African countries to build a curriculum that drives enterprise and prosperity," he said.
The ACA Conference gathered educators, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Africa, where discussions centred on how education can nurture entrepreneurs and strengthen SMEs as engines of inclusive economic growth.
