The Defence Headquarters has assured that troops will sustain counter-terror operations throughout the farming season and beyond to protect farmers and rural businesses in conflict zones.
Director of Operations, Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye, said troops have eliminated key terrorist commanders, arrested collaborators, and rescued kidnap victims across the Northeast, Northwest, and North-Central, creating safer conditions for farming and trade. He added that recent operations in Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau, and other states neutralised dozens of insurgents, freed hostages, and dismantled criminal networks.

In the Niger Delta, security forces destroyed 97 illegal refining sites and recovered over 619,000 litres of stolen crude oil, along with arms, ammunition, and cash, further disrupting illicit supply chains. The Nigerian Air Force also confirmed precision strikes that killed more than 15 terror suspects in Borno.
Officials say these efforts will help secure food production, sustain rural livelihoods, and create a more stable environment for SMEs engaged in agriculture, processing, and local trade.
