The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has approved the acquisition of Chivita|Hollandia (CHI Limited) by UAC of Nigeria PLC (UAC), marking a major consolidation move in Nigeria's fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
In a statement filed on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Friday, UAC confirmed the completion of the transaction first announced in July 2025, officially transferring ownership of CHI Limited to UAC.
The acquisition, according to UAC, aligns with its growth and expansion strategy, adding two market-leading beverage and dairy brands to its portfolio and strengthening its distribution network nationwide.
"We are excited to officially welcome the Chivita|Hollandia team and brands into the UAC family. This acquisition will help us build on their strong legacy and market leadership,"
Fola Aiyesimoju, Group Managing Director, UAC of Nigeria.
Also commenting, Eelco Weber, Managing Director of CHI Limited, expressed optimism about the transition.
"We are pleased to have received regulatory approval for this transaction. We look forward to seeing Chivita|Hollandia thrive under UAC's ownership."
For The Coca-Cola Company, the sale aligns with its global asset-light strategy, allowing it to focus on high-scale brands while maintaining a presence in Nigeria. The company had earlier reaffirmed plans to invest $1 billion over the next five years, contingent on a stable business environment.
The acquisition positions UAC to deepen its participation in Nigeria's competitive FMCG market and expand its footprint in the fast-growing juice and dairy segments.
