The Alternative Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive agricultural growth with the expansion of its non-interest financial facilities targeting women and youth across Nigeria.
Speaking at the Agriculture Summit Africa (ASA) in Abuja, the bank's Executive Director (South), Korede Demola-Adeniyi, said the initiative is designed to empower more Nigerians to participate in agribusiness through accessible financing, financial literacy, and risk-sharing partnerships.
Adeniyi explained that as a non-interest financial institution, the bank operates a risk-sharing model rather than traditional lending, ensuring mutual success between the bank and its beneficiaries.
She noted that the bank has executed several empowerment programmes across at least five states, including a pilot in Kano, where 120 women benefited from a tricycle initiative to support safer rural mobility and economic independence.

The Executive Director also revealed an ongoing ginger production pilot in Kaduna focused exclusively on women farmers, implemented in partnership with development institutions to ensure fair pricing and sustainable income.
To strengthen its reach in underserved communities, the bank has deployed a network of rural agents who serve as direct links with farmers, providing feedback and support in real time.
Adeniyi added that the bank will unveil a dedicated agricultural finance product before year-end to deepen inclusion for women and youth across key value chains.
