Gov. Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has provided 10,000 free Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration certificates to unregistered Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to boost financial inclusion and business formalisation.
Speaking at the 2025 Kogi MSMEs and Financial Inclusion Conference in Lokoja, Ododo, represented by Deputy Gov. Joel Salifu, said the initiative is part of a broader economic empowerment strategy.
The government is also launching an MSMEs cooperative society, a talent hunt initiative, and an MSMEs hub to support small businesses.
Ododo urged financial institutions and development agencies to collaborate in sustaining the initiative, emphasizing Kogi's role in driving Nigeria's economic growth.

The Managing Director of the Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), Mohammad Okeji, highlighted the importance of industry collaboration in providing financial and technical support for MSMEs.
He announced that an impact assessment of the initiative will be conducted in 2026 to evaluate its contributions to job creation and business growth.
