The Rivers State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting partnerships that promote economic development, youth empowerment, and sustainable investment opportunities, with a focus on initiatives that foster enterprise and community development.
During a recent meeting with the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA), the State Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, expressed appreciation for USOSA's choice of Rivers as host for its 3rd Sports Festival.
He praised the event as a platform that promotes unity, showcases the state's peaceful atmosphere, and stimulates local economic activity. Ibas highlighted the administration's openness to collaborations that stimulate socio-economic growth, especially those that enhance youth development through education, sports, and entrepreneurship.

He noted that strategic events like the USOSA festival contribute not only to cultural connection but also to business visibility and local SME growth by attracting visitors and generating commercial opportunities.
The government pledged to explore support for the rehabilitation of Unity Schools in the state and reaffirmed its focus on developing human capital to drive long-term economic success. USOSA President-General, Michael Magaji, thanked the state for its warm hospitality and called for greater support for school infrastructure and youth-focused programs.
