The Lagos State Government has commissioned seven new road projects across over eight communities in Badagry and Olorunda LCDA, unlocking better access for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in the area.
Spanning more than 16 kilometers, the roads now link key business zones, markets, schools, health centers, and tourist sites — making it easier for entrepreneurs and traders to move goods and access customers.
One of the major improvements includes the expansion of the Samuel Ekundayo-Toga Road into a dual carriageway with proper drainage, helping decongest traffic and improve connections to the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. This is expected to benefit small businesses in Limca, Ibereko, and around Badagry Roundabout.

Hospital Road was also upgraded, providing smoother access to major landmarks such as the Agbalata Market and local heritage sites. These enhancements could attract more foot traffic and boost revenue for small vendors, artisans, and service providers.
Badagry's strategic location as a gateway to five West African countries gives it strong potential as a trade and tourism hub. The government says it's committed to spreading development beyond central Lagos, bringing infrastructure that supports grassroots economic growth.
Though some areas like Oko Afo, Ilogbo, Eremi, and Pota are still awaiting upgrades, work is ongoing, and local businesses are encouraged to stay engaged and prepared for future growth opportunities.
For SMEs, the improved roads mean more than just easier transport — they open doors to new markets, faster logistics, and better visibility.
