The initiative, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and improving market access, will ease the transportation of farm produce, strengthen food security, and enhance economic growth. Acting Governor Bayo Lawal, while inspecting ongoing projects alongside Agriculture Commissioner Olasunkanmi Olaleye and other top officials, stressed the importance of quality delivery and timely completion. Lawal reaffirmed the Makinde-led administration's commitment to rural infrastructure development, while Olaleye assured that strict monitoring would ensure contractors deliver to standard. With these upgrades, farmers and traders across Oyo are set to experience smoother access to markets, higher yields, and a more supportive business environment.

Speaking on Channels Television, Oyedele said about 97–98% of Nigerians will either pay no tax or less than they currently do once the reforms take effect. A digital tax calculator has also been introduced to help individuals and businesses know their exact tax obligations. Under the reforms, personal income tax will no longer apply to those earning ₦100,000 monthly or less, while middle-class earners will see deductions in their tax rates. High-income earners, however, will pay slightly more. Oyedele stressed that the reforms aim to simplify Nigeria's tax structure, cutting over 60 existing taxes to fewer than 10. "This is not about new taxes, but about fairness, harmonisation, and transparency," he said.

According to Angola's Ambassador to Nigeria, José Bamóquina Zau, the relaunch marks a turning point for stronger cooperation in hydrocarbons, agribusiness, ICT, innovation, and the blue economy—all aimed at attracting private investment, creating jobs for young people, and supporting SMEs in both countries. From 2020 to 2022, Angola's exports to Nigeria were valued at $5.6 million against imports of $16.8 million, leaving a trade deficit. However, recent business forums show Nigerian firms expressing investment interest worth up to $5 billion—an opportunity both governments want to channel toward SMEs and broader economic diversification.
