The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has hailed Nigeria's selection as host of the 2027 Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), describing it as a landmark opportunity for businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The African Export-Import Bank (Afrexim Bank) recently announced Lagos as the venue for the continental trade fair, a decision NACCIMA said reaffirms Nigeria's leadership role in driving the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agenda and promoting inclusive growth across Africa.
In a statement signed by its National President, Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, NACCIMA noted that the fair will give Nigerian MSMEs an unparalleled platform to showcase their products, services, and innovations to African and global markets.
Ibrahim added that IATF 2027 will also attract both local and foreign investors to explore opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, technology, creative industries, logistics, and financial services.

He highlighted the benefits for smaller businesses, including improved visibility, expanded access to trade finance and investment capital, stronger cross-border partnerships, and new jobs created through value-chain growth.
"The hosting of IATF 2027 enhances Lagos's position as a gateway city for trade and innovation in Africa. For MSMEs, it means greater competitiveness, stronger networks, and access to the wider African market," Ibrahim said.
As the umbrella body of the Organised Private Sector (OPS), NACCIMA pledged to mobilize its nationwide network of chambers of commerce and partners to ensure active private sector participation and maximize the benefits of the fair for Nigerian enterprises.
