The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) has reaffirmed Nigeria's strategic role in addressing energy poverty across Africa through regional collaboration and intra-African trade.
By leveraging its vast gas reserves, Nigeria can play a crucial role in integrating the continent's energy markets and unlocking its abundant energy resources.
Speaking on the potential of Nigeria's gas sector, Nwokedi emphasized the importance of maximizing the Decade of Gas Initiative, which aims to position the country as a leading gas hub in Africa.
He highlighted the need for smart regulations, a structured approach to key pipeline infrastructure projects, and integrated financial policies to improve access to funding for gas-related ventures.

"Nigeria has sufficient gas, as we all know, and is naturally positioned to become a regional gas hub in the continent, but we must seize the opportunity," Nwokedi stated.
He stressed that a top-down approach to gas infrastructure development, coupled with strategic financing frameworks, would ensure sustainable growth in the sector.
With the right policies and investment, the NGA believes Nigeria can drive regional energy integration, enhance economic opportunities, and accelerate the transition to a cleaner, gas-powered future for Africa.
