The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Rural Development, has empowered 150 residents in Epe with essential fish farming materials to boost the agricultural sector and create economic opportunities.
The initiative, held in the Igbodu area and coordinated by the Centre for Rural Development, provided hands-on training for both youths and adults on modern fish farming techniques—from rearing to sales.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, emphasized that the programme goes beyond skill acquisition. "Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ensured that beneficiaries receive fish feed to sustain their farming activities until sales, easing financial burdens," he stated.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kikelomo Bolarinwa, urged participants to apply their knowledge diligently, stressing that success in fish farming requires persistence.
At the end of the programme, participants received smoking kilns, fish feeds, and tanks to support and expand their businesses.
